The beginning of the World cup

On Friday the world cup started. We were so excited to see the first live game of the rugby world cup on TV. We got our lounge ready to watch the opening ceremony. We had to wait for the ceremony to start. We thought that we were all ready but we forgot about our Dad. He went a while ago but he didn’t come back. We waited for 2 minutes and then he just got inside and the beginning of the ceremony had just started.

When the ceremony had started we all counted down from ten. The countdown started, 10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! The Director turned on the lights and pointed at the field. There was a Maori lady standing and the call of welcome was going around like a Moko, and that’s when the adventure started. The Maori did a karanga and then the call went around New Zealand and explored and it looked amazing flying around the world to all the other countries.
